A: I understand that this is a stressful situation.

Under California law, if you are out on bail and a warrant is issued for your arrest due to a missed court date, it's important to take action quickly. Here are a few steps you can consider:

1. Contact your bail bondsman immediately and inform them about the situation. They may be able to help you navigate the process and potentially avoid arrest.

2. Consult with a criminal defense attorney who can review your case and advise you on the best course of action. They may be able to file a motion to recall the warrant or help you arrange to surrender to the court voluntarily.

3. If you were not notified of the court date, your attorney may be able to argue that you did not receive proper notice and request that the warrant be recalled.

4. In some cases, it may be advisable to turn yourself in to the court or law enforcement voluntarily. Your attorney can help you arrange this and argue for your release on a new bail or on your own recognizance.

Remember, failing to address a warrant can lead to additional criminal charges and may negatively impact your case. It's crucial to be proactive and work with an experienced attorney to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
