Q: How to get false information off of my credit report
I had a car loan with Credit Acceptance starting in Feb of 2020. I refinanced my car in November 2022. Now they have reported an open car loan over 90 days late. Experion said they have recorded the loan closed but can’t do anything about the 90 day late claim which is false. I really need a car but can’t get one with this item on my credit.
A: You can contact a consumer protection attorney that is familiar with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. You'll want to check with your new loan company to ensure they paid the old loan off timely.
