A: Under California law, it is important for the attorney representing you to be properly documented in your case records. If the attorney you met at your deposition is different from the one listed in your case and documents, there could be a few explanations. The listed attorney might be the lead attorney or the one who officially filed the documents, while the attorney you met could be part of the legal team assigned to your case.

To clarify the situation, you should contact the law firm handling your case directly. Ask for an explanation about the discrepancy in the names and ensure that you understand who is representing you. It is crucial to have clear communication with your legal team, and they should provide you with an updated record if there have been any changes in representation.

If the law firm does not provide a satisfactory explanation or you continue to feel uncertain, you might consider requesting a formal update to the court records to reflect the correct attorney handling your case. Additionally, keep all correspondence and document any changes for your records to ensure transparency and proper legal representation moving forward.
