A: I am sorry to hear about your girlfriend and the driver. In an accident that serious, you really should hire an attorney. You will need to get the driver's insurance information from the police report. You will then need to submit all medical records to the insurance company. You need to make sure you gather all of the medical records through the appropriate requests to the treatment facilities. If you miss any, it could mean that you are denied compensation for that treatment. After that, the insurance company will try and settle for a very low amount. The damages in this case may exceed the driver's policy limits at which time you would need to look for additional insurance sources like uninsured motorist coverage.

Schedule a free consultation to make sure your girlfriend gets the compensation she is entitled to.
