A: he two terms are not mutually exclusive. A case can be the result of a ticket and can be disposed of by deferred probation. T

When a case is a "ticket," that means the defendant has been issued a citation to appear (the "ticket") rather than being placed under arrest and transported to a jail.

A case can be disposed of in a variety of ways including a pretrial diversion program, deferred probation, regular probation, a fine, a period of jail confinement, or a prison sentence.

With deferred probation, if you satisfactorily complete the probationary period, the charge is dismissed and does not result in a criminal conviction. You may also be able to get the charge expunged, which means removed entirely from your criminal history.

$10,000 is not unreasonable for the legal fees for a plea bargain.
