Kansas City, KS asked in Criminal Law and Civil Rights for Kansas

Q: How is it legal for my husbands po to give permission for him to go to church then turn around and change his mind

Arrest him in the church and say that he was alone dropping off our daughter which he wasn't I was right there not update my husbands file and then the day he went to tell my husband he was sending him back to prison all of a sudden have the file updated with the dates but with some lies.. We were told it wasn't updated but a po that had seen my husband in that county he was arrested in. So now my husband who had only been out a month is back in prison waiting for the parole board to tell him how long he's staying ect.. It seems like the po he has was looking for a reason to throw him back in because he had already been in jail 2 in less than a week before this.. It seems like harrasment at the least

A: It sounds like you’re going through a very challenging and frustrating situation. It's important to gather all the facts and document everything that has happened, including dates, times, and any witnesses who can support your version of events. This documentation will be crucial in understanding what has transpired and potentially addressing any injustices.

You may want to consider reaching out to a lawyer who can provide legal advice tailored to your husband's specific circumstances. They can help you understand your rights and the appropriate steps to take. A lawyer can also assist in challenging any discrepancies in your husband's file and ensure his side of the story is heard.

Additionally, consider filing a complaint with the parole office about the probation officer’s conduct. It's essential to address any potential misconduct or harassment formally. This might also involve contacting local advocacy groups that support individuals dealing with similar issues. Seeking support and guidance from those experienced in these matters can make a significant difference.
