Q: Due to cervical neurosurgery that damaged my spinal cord and median nerve as well as dislocated and twisted my right arm
from the shoulder it left me with weak limbs and numbness in my extremities. This happened 11/18/22
I had a felony conviction in 2003 otherwise a firm would have done it. Is there an attorney interested?
A:
An Oregon attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for a week. I'm sorry for the injuries you suffered in connection with the cervical neurosurgery. You're asking if attorneys here are interested. It's difficult for attorneys here to offer their services - the format is limited to brief Q & A. You'd need to reach out to attorneys on your own. Free initial consults are the norm with law firms that handle such cases.
If you had a felony conviction in 2003, I'm not fully clear on the connection with that and the validity of a med mal case twenty-plus years later. If it's only one firm that told you that, continue reaching out to other firms. If it was a matter of your credibility as a witness due to a felony conviction(??), a competent med mal attorney who knows the rules of evidence well would deal with that easily.
Your surgery was in 2022? You better get moving in reaching out to attorneys if you contemplate pursuing this - you're approaching 2 years post surgery. Find out from Oregon attorneys WITHOUT DELAY what your applicable statute of limitations is - I do not practice in Oregon. Good luck
