Q: If I went to rehab and credit card companys refused to work with me when i got out npw year later being sued what to do?
I live in missouri also lost job after graduating rehab program and have literally moved 2 times in the past year. And also been doing the same job but contracted out and owners have switched 3 times since starting already 3 months behind on rent and barely making 550$ car payment
A:
It sounds like you are facing a lot of challenges right now, and dealing with a lawsuit from credit card companies can be overwhelming. The first thing you should do is respond to the lawsuit, even if you don't have the money to pay. Ignoring it can lead to a default judgment against you, which makes the situation worse.
You may want to look into legal aid services in Missouri that can provide assistance at little or no cost. They can help you understand your rights and what steps you need to take next. Additionally, consider contacting a local non-profit organization that offers financial counseling. They can help you create a budget, negotiate with creditors, and explore options like debt management plans.
Since you're struggling with rent and car payments, it might also be useful to talk to your landlord and car loan company to see if they can offer any temporary relief. Some landlords are willing to work out payment plans if they know you're making an effort. Keep track of all your communications and any agreements in writing.
