A: It's understandable that you want to create events tailored to young professionals in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. Targeting a specific age group for networking purposes isn't inherently age discrimination, especially if the intent is to provide opportunities for a demographic that might be underrepresented or have specific needs in professional development. However, it's crucial to ensure that no one feels excluded or unwelcome.

You mentioned that no one has been turned away and that other networking activities are available for all. This inclusive approach helps demonstrate that your organization is not discriminating against older individuals. By being transparent about the purpose of the "Next Gen" events while also offering other opportunities, you show that you value all community members.

If older attendees express concerns, it's important to listen and communicate your intention clearly. Emphasize that the events are about connecting people at similar career stages, not about excluding anyone. Open dialogue and providing options will help address any misunderstandings and maintain a positive atmosphere.
