A: First, you need to hire an attorney who handles divorce cases in Tarrant County.

Since a restraining order was included with the citation served upon you, it will show a court date for a hearing for 'temporary orders" in your divorce case. This is almost always within two weeks of when the divorce petition was filed.

You must appear in court on that date and you should bring an attorney with you. The court will decide you is entitled to temporary use and possession of the house at that hearing. You should ask for temporary orders for yourself including temporary support if you cannot afford another place to live and intend to move out of the home, especially given the medical issues.
