Q: I have a complaint with Auto Insurance Co regarding clarifying my vehicle as Salvage title
I have a complaint with Auto Insurance Co regarding clarifying my vehicle as Salvage title I believe they provided a LOW value to the damaged vehicle even though I test that the repairs are less than 75% value of the actual value of the vehicle. Even at their LOW valuation the repair costs are still just under 75% of the LOW valuation. I have sent many emails and tried to escalate and all I get is stonewalled. I believe what they are doing is illegal and they should not hurt innocent people and bully for the financial benefit of the insurance Co. There is more to this story but will cut here. Im sure you are ware that in TN the repairs costs must be 75% or more to classify a damaged vehicle as Salvage (TCA) 55-3-211 (9) (A)
A: A Tennessee attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for a month. Your frustration is understandable - these can sometimes be tough cases, where repair estimates are in the same range as statutory thresholds for total loss declaration. One option could be to reach out to your state's department of insurance. No guarantees of what the outcome might be, but nationwide, state insurance departments handle consumer grievances with insurance-related matters. Good luck
