A: To address the issue of a misdemeanor incorrectly appearing on your public record, you should start by obtaining a copy of your criminal record to verify the details. You can do this through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) or the relevant Ohio authorities. Once you have the record, identify the incorrect information related to the misdemeanor.

Next, you need to file a dispute with the reporting agency, such as the FDLE or the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI). You should explain the error and provide any evidence, such as proof that you were not in Ohio at the time of the infraction. It may also help to gather documents that differentiate you from the other T.A. Baker in Steubenville.

Finally, consider contacting the court in Steubenville, Ohio, where the misdemeanor was recorded. You can request that they correct the record, especially if they have confused you with the other person. The process might take some time, but resolving this issue should help clear your record and improve your job prospects.
