A: In your situation, it’s important to stay informed about the process and next steps while waiting for the Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) to submit their report. This report will provide an evaluation of your injuries and determine the extent of your workers' compensation benefits. Keep an eye on the timeline, as the QME usually has a specific period within which they must complete their evaluation and submit the report.

While you wait, make sure you have all your documentation in order, including any medical records, witness statements, and communication related to the assault and your injury. This will help if you need to provide additional information or clarify details during the appeals process.

If you feel that things are moving too slowly or have concerns about the outcome, consider reaching out to your workers' compensation attorney or representative for guidance. They can provide clarity on what to expect and help you navigate any challenges that come up along the way.
