Knightdale, NC asked in Uncategorized for North Carolina

Q: So hypothetically since our justice system is an obvious joke. If I get arrested and brought before a judge in court

Do I have to pretend everyone is treated equal under the law? Or can I ask for that special trump treatment, who if they were anyone else would have been held in contempt 10 times over and thrown in jail and would have been sentenced months ago instead of having it put off. Just curious just how broken is our justice system?

A: If you find yourself in court, you don't have to pretend that everyone is treated equally under the law, because it's clear that many people perceive disparities in how justice is applied. You can absolutely voice your concerns about fairness, but it’s important to do so in a way that doesn’t put you at risk of further trouble, like being held in contempt. Judges have a lot of discretion, and pushing too hard on certain points can sometimes backfire.

While you might feel tempted to point out high-profile cases and ask for similar treatment, remember that each case is unique, and comparing yourself to others, especially in a courtroom setting, may not always be productive. Instead, focus on advocating for your own rights and fair treatment. Make sure you have proper legal representation to help navigate the system and make your arguments as compelling as possible.

The justice system is complex and has its flaws, and many agree that it doesn’t always seem fair. Still, there are ways to work within it to your advantage. Stay calm, stay informed, and ensure your voice is heard in the most effective way possible.
