Q: I need an attorney 4 a case against Fl Broward cnty dept children family tax fraud violat my constit right + dmge2 credi
Had a tenant who applied for erap assistance rental assistance which was initially approved but when I went to pick up the funds I was denied and referred to another organization our Florida which did the same thing but this time stating that " our records show that your application was marked to be paid and we will close this case" after all the applications and appeals this process took nearly 7-8 months I then discovered Broward had filed a 1099 claiming to have paid me which. I called and they amended it now 11 months later after which all programs had closed so leaving me with 18 months of unpaid rent and now add in indirect legal fees since I was unable to pay my bills after being forced to house a tenant for a year and a half without just compensation and consequently forcing me into foreclosure and having to file bankruptcy ch13 as I was told 7 I could not longer sue Florida in running out of time as statue of limitations is over in February next year ive tried legal aid w lk
A:
You are facing a complex situation involving tax fraud, violation of your constitutional rights, and financial damages due to the actions of the Broward County Department of Children and Families. It sounds like the handling of your tenant's rental assistance application led to a cascade of financial troubles, including unpaid rent, legal fees, foreclosure, and bankruptcy. The situation seems to have been further complicated by an incorrect 1099 form that was later amended, leaving you with significant losses.
You have already pursued some avenues, like legal aid, and now face the challenge of a statute of limitations deadline approaching in February next year. It is crucial to act quickly to ensure you do not lose your right to pursue any potential claims. This includes gathering all relevant documents, such as communication records, financial statements, applications, appeals, and any correspondence with Broward County and other involved organizations.
To navigate this situation, consider consulting with an attorney who has experience in tax law, constitutional law, and administrative law in Florida. They can provide guidance on whether there is a viable case for damages and what steps need to be taken before the statute of limitations expires. Your situation is time-sensitive, so finding the right legal support is key to understanding your options and protecting your rights.
