Washington, DC asked in Traffic Tickets and Car Accidents for Virginia

Q: Traffic/Civil case

Google map led me the customer neighbor's house - the house is on a small hill with long/driveway.

The moment I was close the the house and I realized that it's was the address. I started to make a 3-point turn. Half way before I complete the turn, the owner got out and start yelling and hitting my car, I put my park in "parking" and kept the engine running. I got off the car tried to talk to him. He came to me(I was standing on the ground by the driver side door) and kept yelling and cursing. Out of sudden he entered my car and started operate my car, he completed the turn and started driving away(downhill), seconds later he jumped off the my car and the car kept moving downhill and hit the tree.

No citation was issued.

1. Did polices handle the case properly? I can't believe it just like a normal traffic accident

2. I did not have rideshare/commerical coverage. Will his insurance company deny my claim?

3. Any other things I should be considering?

A: That's a wild sequence of events. What you're describing could be charged criminally in a number of ways, including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and destruction of property. It's a shame that there is apparently no dash camera footage of this incident as that would settle a lot of problems. If no charges or tickets were written for this person I suppose that means he disputed your version of the events.
