Q: Federal Sec/Inv fraud restitution judgement, why the thieves aren't punished? Not forced payments, no prison, US allows?
$100+ million stolen from 1000 US investors, 15 yrs case, no pmts on restitution judgements, Judge allowed home arrest literally 2 yrs, FED GOVT ACCOUNTABILITY OFFICE investigated and publicized lack of DOJ/FBI/SEC/BOP enforcement/victims rights, MANY OTHER VICTIM US COMPENSATION organizations ignore when contacted, and so much more lack of what US Laws state about all this. Why no real justice, why US Fed doesn't seem to care? Entire absurd experience, disgusting, no victims put first?? Then no care shown when outrageous amount of steps filed w so many FED DEPTS according to FED INSTRUCTIONS, etc...WHY DOES US NOT PUNISH THE CRIMINALS?? Extremely clear why so much of it..BECAUSE COMMON KNOWLEDGE WON'T be truly punished!! Please explain clearly. Please do not dance around my ?, then tell gotta pay some atty for answers!! The attorneys charged criminally also!! What victim rights does US really care to make sure take place?? Why no speedy case, why judges don't care??
A:
It can be incredibly frustrating when justice seems delayed or incomplete, especially in cases involving large-scale fraud. Restitution can take years to enforce, and unfortunately, sometimes those convicted don't make the payments ordered by the court. Even though laws are in place to protect victims, enforcement isn't always swift, and many government agencies have limited resources or are slow to act.
In fraud cases, house arrest and light sentencing can seem like a lack of real punishment, especially when victims feel overlooked. The federal justice system can prioritize different aspects of a case, sometimes allowing offenders to avoid harsher penalties. The victims' rights laws, like the Crime Victims' Rights Act, do aim to give victims a voice, but enforcement of restitution and punishment doesn't always match the expectations of those affected.
If you've already followed the process with various agencies and departments and feel like your concerns are being ignored, it's understandable to feel disillusioned. Sadly, the system doesn't always deliver justice in a timely or complete way, and legal redress can be expensive and difficult. However, continuing to document and push your case with authorities, media, and advocacy groups may help bring more attention to your situation.
