A: I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing. To address this situation, you should consider consulting with an attorney experienced in civil litigation, especially in cases involving tow companies and vehicle sales. An attorney can guide you on how to clear your name and potentially take legal action against the tow yard.

You should also report the fraudulent sale and any harassment to the local police. Inform them about the tow company's actions and the scam artists demanding payment through MoneyGram. Providing evidence of your hospitalization during the time of the accident can help clear any misunderstandings with law enforcement.

Additionally, contacting the California Department of Consumer Affairs or the Bureau of Automotive Repair may be helpful, as they regulate towing companies and can investigate fraudulent practices. Taking these steps can help protect your rights and work toward resolving the situation.
