Q: In the state of New Jersey, what is required of an apartment maintenance worker to work on a ceiling?
My ceiling currently has water damage, and cracks and discoloration (not actively leaking).
Im more worried about mold than anything, as this is in my infant son’s room. I have been asking for months for them (maintenance) to come out and fix this issue. (They were informed in February of 2023, it is now currently October 2024).
I have had issues with them doing poor work in the past for other issues. My concern is the same; they will rip apart my ceiling and do an unacceptable job.
So the question remains, is there an extent of what they are allowed to do? Is there a permit they must have before hand?
