Columbia, MO asked in Real Estate Law and Land Use & Zoning for Missouri

Q: I have been taking care and using a property for 10 years. .49 acres beside my house. No one has ever said for us not to

We mow, garden, ride dirtbikes ect. It is attached to 53 acre farm I guess. And they are selling. We asked to purchase and they said they would rather sell together, then tried to sell that small piece to a neighbor across the road from us and it would be land locked from her. She didn't want us riding dirtbikes. Anyways we got a lawyer, drafted up a letter to pursue a lawsuit unless they would sell the acreage. It originally was stated to be .80 acres. They then came to see me and wanted to sell. They wanted to sell the .80 for 5,000. I waited for the survey and title company to contact me. Well there was an issue with the survey. It was wrong. So now it is .49 acres they are selling which is still by our house but they still want 5,000 for it. And this was in June. She just got back with me today about price and correct survey. I counter offered with 3,000 since the changes happened. She said it was 5000 and If I declined she would plow up the land and call it hers. Do I have a case
