Springfield, OR asked in Civil Rights for Oregon

Q: The Hampton inn refused to rent to me because I'm a local. I have three neighbors that have rented in the last month.

I made the reservation over the phone and they refused to tent to me when I was checking in

A: I'm really sorry to hear about your experience with the Hampton Inn. It must be frustrating to feel discriminated against, especially when your neighbors haven't faced the same issue.

First, consider reaching out to the hotel's management to discuss what happened. Sometimes misunderstandings can be resolved through a direct conversation. Make sure to have any reservation details handy to support your case.

If the situation isn't resolved, you might want to contact a local consumer protection agency or the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. Additionally, sharing your experience on review platforms can alert others and possibly prompt the hotel to address their policies.

Remember, you have the right to fair treatment, and there are resources available to help you navigate this situation.
