Q: I have shared custody, what legally can I do about my child experiencing emotional abuse in the other home?
I share custody ex husband, child,10 years, state MO, experiencing emotional abuse at the hands of a step mother. Back story woman harassed me for years, was the other woman, this lead to divorce. The woman picks at our child every chance she gets. Father has no backbone, does nothing, calls child a liar when I bring things to his attention after our child tried to tell him what’s going on, always side with wife. This woman yells, screams at our child to invoke fear, criticizes child’s appearance, throws away/takes things I’ve bought, demands our child call her mom, using her control to make up more lies to the father, makes child feel guilty for speaking up about anything. Woman uses tactics taking anything she likes away, making her write I will not lie hundreds of times, sends audio recordings forcing child to say she lied/ sends punishment assignments to me on fathers phone. Child cries when having to go there, in therapy. Parent counseling, he stopped coming. Have documentation.
