Q: Can my company write me up for failing a class they forced me to take ?
I am a maint. plumber for a small college and also lead-man in my group. The school forced myself and another employee to take a week long course in locksmithing. They did not ask for volunteers in my group of 10. I explained to them I was not interested. I don't test well as I have ADHD and IEP. Need 1 on 1 and no time limit on testing, which I received in plumbers training school. They didn't care. The class was made up of men from all over the region who wanted to be locksmiths, some in training for years and took 1 week and some overtime. Needless to say we both failed the test miserably. Now the school wants to write us up. They say we failed purposely. HR asked us why we didn't cheat ! We both feel targeted. Can they do this ??
