Chicago, IL asked in Criminal Law for Illinois

Q: I need to get my phones back after my place was raided on a search warrant. I was let go the same day with no charges.

My phones were still held despite me being released due to there not being enough evidence against me. I need my phones to work since that’s where the app is in order to do so and all my two factor authentication stuff is sent to that phone. Is there anything I can do to get those phones back or am I out of luck. I just don’t understand how they can hold onto my phones if they didn’t have enough evidence against me. My two roommates were charged with possession since there was evidence against them to do so.
