A: If you haven't received your Employment Authorization Document (EAD) yet, you should refrain from starting any work, including driving for DoorDash. Working without proper authorization can jeopardize your immigration process and your pending I-485 application.

Once your EAD is approved and in hand, you'll be legally permitted to engage in employment, including gig work like DoorDash. Make sure to keep track of your application status and respond promptly to any requests from USCIS to avoid delays.

In the meantime, focus on maintaining your current status and ensuring all your paperwork is in order. If you have any uncertainties, consulting with an immigration attorney can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation.
