Q: my OB I had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy and that lead me to developed type two diabetes , can I sue ?

was never told by my OB I had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy and that lead me to developed type two diabetes, (she did do the test for glucose, I was told to monitor my numbers because the results came out high but didn’t say anything that I had developed diabetes, throughout my whole pregnancy) - when she saw my numbers came out high she did order me a device to take my glucose, every consultation she never asked me for my numbers only my blood pressure numbers (I also was at risk for preeclampsia) so I went to a high-risk doctor plus an OB through out my whole pregnancy was never told by both anything about gestational diabetes. ( I had to deliver at 34 weeks due to “preeclampsia” , & was given a emergency c-section due to blood pressure numbers being too high). After I gave birth I was told I have already devolved type 2 diabetes. That day I was started on metformin and was told baby could also develop diabetes in the future

A: Sue for what? There is NOTHING that anyone can do to prevent GD. To sue under a theory of medical negligence/malpractice, you MUST be able to articulate how the provider breached the standard of care they owed you. GD is CAUSED by the placenta interfering with insulin absorption. It cannot be prevented and the degree of management depends upon comorbidities which you admit were present.

You have not identified anything your OB negligently failed to do to prevent GD (there is nothing) or what harm resulted to you or your baby as a result of the alleged negligence. You NEED BOTH to justify litigation.
