Q: Can I take a repair shop to court for messing up my CarFax report?
I went to sell my car and the CarFax report came back with five discrepancies that were caused by the repair shop. The issue was an odometer rollback from 140,000 miles back to 109.000 along with four other issues. The repair shop failed to catch the input error and a year later is when it was caught on the CarFax. I've submitted to CarFax to have the report fixed but I'm unsure if they will fix it considering the time lapse since the incident was recorded. This has caused me to not be able to sell my car for what it's worth.
