Los Angeles, CA asked in Real Estate Law and Probate for Alaska

Q: How do I handle the mortgage co. for house in Alaska? See more info.

My father and stepmom have a house in Fairbanks but moved in with me in Nevada in 2021. He passed away 9/2024 in Nevada but did a quit claim deed to my sister in 2022, even though he still has a mortgage on the house. I don't believe stepmom is on the mortgage, just the previous deed (mortgage co. won't provide any info even though I'm executor). I recorded his Will in Nevada and don't have another original to record in Fairbanks courts. What do I provide the mortgage company other than the death cert? My sister is still making payments on the house and will continue for the foreseeable future. Thank you in advance.
