Cedar Rapids, IA asked in Criminal Law, Civil Rights and Constitutional Law for Iowa

Q: Can police lie on their application for a warrant, and subsequent police department narrative?

The Shenandoah police lied about the time that they obtained a search warrant for my house. They were conducting a controlled buy using a CI, and an "individual". They did not find any drugs at my house, nor did they find any drugs on my person or in my vehicle. They did not find anything that the CI and "individual" said that they would find and they said that they obtained the search warrant after the alleged drug buy when in fact the search warrant is time stamped for before any of things happened that they claim happened. How do I go about getting justice as I was sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended, a fine, suspended, and 3 years of probation. I brought all of this up to the public defender and he completely ignored all of it and plead on my behalf even though I told him I wanted to take it to trial.
