Parker, CO asked in Child Support for Colorado

Q: When filling out a modification for child support do we put the amount of overnights in the past year or in the future?

My ex and I have joint custody of our child (never married). The parenting plan states that I have him every other weekend, summer, and during 2 weeks during breaks and trade of holidays. For reasons, I have had him a majority of the time (basically doing opposite of the parenting plan) for the past five years. He now wants to go live with mom (now that she can have him). We never changed the parenting plan and I have still been paying my child support every month (never modified the cs). She did turn around and give me the $ back but never paid child support herself. My work and pay has changed (making less). I need to do a child support modification. Do I put the amount of overnights my son has been with me the past year or do we enter the amount he may be with his mom in the UP coming year?
