Asked in Estate Planning and Probate

Q: Legal rights to information about our family member's deceased estate.

Hi, my brother passed away in Aug this year without a Will. He has 2 children aged 9 and 11 who are his next of kin. He had no spoise or current partner when he passed. His x partner who has been seperated from him for over 3 years and the mother of his children is applying for Letters Of Administration for his estate.

Are we as his family (his mother and sister) allowed to legally and formally request for an update or to know the management of his estate from the administrator (his x partner)?

We are concerned that his x partner may not sort his estate solely for the benefit of his children and we would like to make sure his estate is not mismanaged for her own personal gain.

Are we entitled to be given information from her or her solicitor in regards to this? And if so, could i please know how to do this.

Thanking you,
