Huntsville, AL asked in Family Law for Alabama

Q: Guardianship awarded to financially strapoed sister who put parent in end of life hospice against will of ward. Help!

Parent is heart broken as are other family members. Parent doesn’t have terminal illness. Parent didn’t approve of being forced to have a guardian OR the choice for a guardian. Now parent is forced to take bentos, opiates, and stop her Parkinson’s med which was helping her. Phys therapy and speech therapy stopped which was helpful and parent looked foreword to it daily. vitamins stopped. She is being forced to be bedridden in a hospital bed guardian had put in. She is being dumbed down and she never was asked if she wanted guardian or hospice. Guardian is killing her off because of caregiving 24/7 expenses. Brother asked to replace her as guardian and do caregiving for free. Sister offered grocery money and continual visiting. But now, guardian has banned children from visiting and for two months prior to hearing, guardian instructed all caregivers to monitor all calls, all conversations. Ward not permitted to speak without being monitored. Guardian premeditated ward’s murder.
