Q: Alice pays off Bob's home. Bob's account # used by Alice. Who owns home? A & B? B? Can gal C force property sale?
Alice required Bob to add her daughter Carrie to a survivorship deed. Carrie (55) and Bob (60) are former spouses after 15 years of divorce. Not married. Housemates
Alice's terms and conditions are met. Carrie moved in in 2021 and moved out in 2024.
Now comes a contested property partitioning case with alleged "dirty hands" case facets. New county documents show the property as co-owned with Alice and Bob. Also, county property deed filings show a deed transaction with Bob as the grantor and Bob as the grantee, without Bob's knowledge. Two deed transactions also occur without Bob's knowledge or agreement. Carrie deeds the property to Alice. Alice deeds the property right back to Carrie, without Bob's name appearing at all.
In writing, Carie demands to be fully refunded on Alice's involvement in the property. She renegs on her verbal promise to share living expenses and home improvements by a very high dollar margin of what she should have.
