Q: Victim of stalking by proxy (retaliation) after arson charges were pressed
My wife's personal belongings were burned by a friend in retaliation for us moving trying to get our life together. Among those items were irreplaceable items with sentimental value. My wife pressed arson charges and said friend moved out of state once they were made aware of the charges to avoid prosecution. They were briefly incarcerated for less than 30 days after they were arrested for an unrelated incident. Law enforcement never extradited them to the state in which my wife pressed charges because the charges were not serious enough to involve extradition. This individual has not threatened us directly but has instead sent out friends of theirs and gang members that live in the area to harass us in person on a weekly basis (sometimes daily) by beating on our windows as well as following us around town when we leave the house. Besides video footage of the harassment what are our legal options?
