Asked in Appeals / Appellate Law, Child Custody and Criminal Law for Iowa

Q: Exception to appeal timeframes. Jan 3, 2024 I contested the ex parte removal of my son. Can I still appeal?

Sounds crazy, 10 months later. I had requested an appeal by my appointed P.D who said basically "perjury" of HHS and such were not grounds for an appeal and didnt know what I was talking about. Petition & 8/10 bullets on affidavit were fabricated and conflicted info, naming my mother's home (where he was abducted from) as my residence and also the residence he was deemed safe. (NO ALLEGATIONS CAME/STEM FROM GRANDMA OR HER HOME). The County Attorney demanded removal so she could proceed w criminal charges & alienated my son from known family to his estranged father over an hour away on 12/22/23. The amount of fabrications to hide misconduct of a false seizure report and continued misconduct is absurd. Juvenile Judge silences me in & out of court/ gag orders, misconstrued drug tests which they name me an addict but no proof I've ever consumed illegal substances (no metabolites positive). After 40 pt objection, forced counsel upon me after being pro se.
