Q: Hi I am wrongfully being charged with desertion of a child that has lived with me and I have financially supported.
I have not signed a affadavit of the child, nor do I have a child support order from the state. I request to have paternity and set child support but I don’t not have the mother’s address she refuses to give the information to me. I am retired military with VA benefits and the child is not in my benefits and I am not on the birth certificate.I live and Florida retired 100 percent disabled I do not work. The child was born in Maryland where the mother is from. She continues to harass me and my family, online, text messages from fake numbers and fake emails trying extortion money from me. I asked to go to family court to establish paternity and support but she refuses and proceeded to file desertion charges when I just recently sent the child money for his birthday. The child has lived with me and I have kept the child for weeks at a time while she has disappeared. Please help.
