Q: How do I know I'm choosing the right medical malpractice lawyer?
I was taken to the ER and treated terribly. Found out over a month later from my surgeon that I should have at the very least been offered surgery the day of the accident. They sent me home in a cheap sling and said go see an orthopedic. To top it off they were rude and I couldn't even call for help with the button thing next to the bed because it was way out past my reach. When I finally got someone I got the Dr hasn't approved your meds. I told the er nurse that isn't why I asked for help. I needed to sit up because I couldn't breathe. I feel that because I didn't have insurance I wasn't properly given care that could have saved me entire life.
A: A Texas attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for a week. Your question involves individual and personal decisions. The short answer is that you will need to have confidence in the attorney's knowledge and experience, and you will need to trust the attorney and feel comfortable working with them. A starting point could be to reach out to law firms to discuss. Naturally, the law firms you speak with would also need to be interested in handling your matter. Med mal cases are generally handled on a contingency basis, and due to the investment of time and resources on the part of a law firm, they can be selective in the cases they accept. Good luck
