Chicago, IL asked in Civil Litigation for Missouri

Q: Civil case filed against me. Plaintiffs attorney having health issues related to serious cancer. Keeps continuing case.

From the very beginning of this lawsuit the Plaintiffs attorney has never shown up to a single court hearing. They have had other attorney's present in order to request continuances. The Plaintiff's attorney is known to me and it is common knowledge he is fighting a vicious battle with Cancer. Now after a year of continuances we are finding out e's about to START Chemo treatment. Not to be heartless, but this case has gone through over 1 year of continuances and for some reason my attorney does not seem to be fighting these. I want this case to be concluded already and now my attorney is talking about increased costs due to the length of time this case has been pending. Any advice on how to proceed or what my attorney should be doing to fight for my victory in this would be greatly appreciated!
