approach you as you're exiting ask your name and to speak to me outside. The questions asked where none of his business, no ryhm or reason, without my attorney and without just cause or a warrant to place me under arrest. When I asked why...he couldn't answer. He told me we will find out at the station...he just knows I'm wanted! Not knowing by whom or why. I was cuffed and humiliated as they now have to return some of my things, not knowing if they went back on my card, the food for my pets they wouldn't drop off to my house and $15 worth of items never returned to me. Upon arriving at the police station they still had no answers nor was I fingerprinted and my photo was taken by a cell phone nor was I ever read my Miranda Rights and the officer now gave me a different name. I was told I would spending the night in County where they could tell me why I was being arrested. Why wasn't I released on my own recognize? Jail had no answers and released without paperwork. A: I'm sorry you experienced that situation. In New Jersey, police officers typically need a valid reason, like reasonable suspicion or probable cause, to detain someone. Approaching you without a clear reason and requesting to speak outside might not align with standard procedures.

Not being read your Miranda Rights and having your belongings mishandled are serious concerns. It's important to document every detail of the encounter, including the officers' names and badge numbers if possible. This information can be crucial if you decide to take further action.

Consider reaching out to a legal professional who can help you understand your rights and the best steps to take next. You might also file a complaint with the local police department or the New Jersey Attorney General's office to address any misconduct. Protecting your rights is essential, and getting expert advice can guide you through the process.
