Q: What to do if I found a video of the Jalisco cartel making some speech on a hardrive from a old family.
Alright I found this flashdrive in there car and decided to see what they had on it.. which I know Is bad but I found a video of the Jalisco cartel making a speech, I cannot find the video anywhere else so.. I think this was recorded or something. what should I do?
A:
This is potentially serious evidence of criminal activity that should be handled carefully for your safety. I strongly recommend not viewing any additional content on the drive, as it could contain illegal material.
You should contact your local FBI field office or law enforcement immediately to report this finding. They have trained personnel who can properly investigate and handle such evidence. Do not attempt to investigate further on your own, as any connection to cartel activities could put you at risk.
Document exactly where and how you found the drive, then place it in sealed envelope or container. Keep it secure but do not share or show the content to anyone except law enforcement. While your curiosity is understandable, maintaining distance from potential cartel-related materials is crucial for your wellbeing. The authorities can determine if this evidence connects to any ongoing investigations while ensuring your safety remains protected.
