Q: As a nurse, my boss asked me to access her file so she could see her recent Xray that was done at a different office.

We have a large network of doctors and hospitals in our company. My boss was standing next to me when the xray was pulled up, and I did not look at the xray. The company IT system flagged this and my boss's manager called her asking why I accessed her records. My boss told her that she asked me to do so because she wanted to see the xray and told her boss that I was following her direction. Now I am being accused of violating HIPPA. The office is a hostile work environment, and I did not want to have her accuse me of insubordination knowing she would yell at me in front of the other employees. At this point they are writing me up and it will affect raises and possible transfers in the future. I don't think I did anything wrong since I had the patient's consent, the patient was present, and I did not share anything in the file with anyone else. How do I respond to this false accusation?
