Q: I have been refused service from my water company. They are not under jurisdiction of a regulator. What now?
I was told their board of directors voted to no longer provide service in my area. A family member has service next door that I have been paying for months. I brought this to their attention and was then told they weren’t adding any additional service. I have had service here before under another account. Can they legally refuse service ? I have more details into their business practices but limited space for this information.
A: An Indiana attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for over a week. Until you are able to discuss with an Indiana attorney in detail, one option could be to reach out to state offices that oversee public utilities. In most states, these are called Public Service Commissions, or similar names. Good luck
