West Chester, PA asked in DUI / DWI for Delaware

Q: I had a dui case and lawyer told me i don’t need to be present in court but case is still active

i had a dui case and a friend (at the time) told me he’d help me connect with his lawyer who is really good. I spoke to the lawyer on the phone and they asked for money order as the fee method of payment. I made it and sent it with the friend as i was not driving at the time. The lawyer then told me that i do not need to be present in court and he can handle everything. Side note - i was fairly new to the country and didn’t know much about how the duis go about. I decided to trust a friend who is a citizen and a lawyer who seemed very professional on the call. Now i just found out that the case was never attended and is still active.

What can i do now?
