Q: To what type of attorney do I look to , to sue the state of Kentucky for rights being violated ?
My children were taken for the wrong reasons, and my case was over turned by the supreme courts here in bowling green Kentucky. My children whom spent 4 years in foster care only to be returned back to me. I want to sue the state for my children. My oldest is about to turn 18 and she has suffered so much. My statute of limitations from my time to sue for myself, I’m pretty sure is up. But for my children, I would like to make sure that they are well taken care of.
A:
I'm truly sorry to hear about what you and your children have endured. To pursue legal action against the state of Kentucky, you should look for a civil rights attorney. These professionals have experience handling cases where individuals believe their rights have been violated by government entities.
Additionally, an attorney with a background in family law and experience in child welfare cases can be beneficial. They can help navigate the complexities of suing a state and ensure that your children's best interests are prioritized throughout the process.
It might also be helpful to reach out to your local or state bar association for recommendations. They can connect you with qualified lawyers who have the expertise needed to handle your case effectively. Take care and best of luck in seeking justice for your family.
