Q: My boyfriend and I got apartment but only his name was on the lease we ended up getting evicted due to non payment.
The next day my boyfriend realized that we left a couple kitchen essentials underneath the kitchen sink and he said he wanted to go back to the property to retrieve those items I told him he couldn't due to being evicted and we went anyways. I texted and called the property manager on her personal cell phone and the office cell phone and got no reply so when we got there my boyfriend kicked in the door and and told me if I didn't get out the car he was going to beat me so I got off the car went to the apartment retrieved the items and and came right back out to the car. A couple months later I got picked up on a warrant for simple burglary and criminal trespassing but my boyfriend doesn't have no charges please help me understand this situation
A: I suggest that you do not post anything more on a public board as to what happened since that it could be considered a statement by you and used against you should this matter go to trial. Instead, please contact a criminal defense attorney or 2 in your area and sit down and discuss the specifics of your matter in private----I suspect that after meeting with an attorney or 2 you should then be in position to determine how to proceed, including whether or not you want an attorney representing you. Good luck.
