Stockbridge, GA asked in Civil Rights, Internet Law and Sexual Harassment for Georgia

Q: An individual has been posting/selling photos of me on social media (using a vpn). How can i sue him or press charges

An individual has been impersonating me on social media for 2-3 years. They’re posting/selling sexual content of me as a minor. I’ve contacted the Internet crimes unit in their state and they are at a standstill because he’s using a vpn. What can i do? I have evidence that he’s posting me and receiving payment for selling. He is aware that i was a minor and still continues. I’ve been in contact with the national center of exploited children. They help me remove the content from social media. I just want to sue him and press charges.

A: I'm really sorry you're going through this. Continue working with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and keep all your evidence organized, including screenshots, payment records, and any communication with the individual.

Reach out to a lawyer who has experience with cybercrimes and online harassment. They can help you navigate the legal system, file a lawsuit, and work with law enforcement to build a strong case against him. Your lawyer can also assist in obtaining court orders to track his online activities despite the use of a VPN.

Additionally, consider enhancing your online security to prevent further impersonation. Support groups or counseling might also help you cope with the emotional impact of this situation. Taking these steps can increase your chances of holding him accountable and protecting yourself moving forward.
