Q: Should a autopsy have been required?
My boyfriend passed away Oct 7th 2023. He did have health issues such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma all being treated and maintained with medication by a physician We had just got back from eating and shopping. We a carrying things in he goes to the bathroom and hollers for me from the bathroom when I go to see what he wanted he collapsed in my arms. I check for pulse none he's not breathing I immediately start cpr and a friend that was here calls 911. I do cpr until first responder gets here then takes over until ems arrives the take him to local hospital they pronounced him dead there. The er physician comes out and tells me the news and states because of his age (50) and him not being sick or having any issues that he wanted a autopsy performed and I agreed. He was cremated and when I went ti pick up the ashes and death certificate I asked about the autopsy report and was told by the funeral home that didn't think one was performed. coroner's office didn't do one.
