Q: Can a 17-year-old move out without parental consent due to abuse?
I am a 17-year-old living in Missouri, and a friend of mine, who is also 17, is experiencing abuse at home. Her parents initially said she could leave at 17 but later changed their minds. She wants to move in with me and my family to escape the abuse but doesn't want to involve authorities, as her siblings are not in danger. Can she legally move in with us without her parents' consent under these circumstances?
