Q: How can I contest allegations in a dependency removal order to regain custody of my child in Georgia?
I received a dependency removal order for my child based on allegations such as giving birth at home without prenatal care, testing positive for methamphetamines, and attempting to take my baby from the nursery. However, the allegations are misleading and false. I have prenatal care records (though not from an OBGYN) and EMTs' statements that I wasn't bleeding out upon hospital arrival. A test for methamphetamines was done without consent, and my low hemoglobin levels were pre-existing. I refused a blood transfusion due to religious beliefs and threatening behavior from medical staff regarding a PICC line. I later sought care at another hospital, confirming a transfusion was unnecessary as it didn't change my hemoglobin level significantly. My placement in ICU with only a saline drip felt like an attempt to delay my departure with my child. Additionally, CPS did not make efforts to find relatives or friends to care for my child. How can I contest these allegations and work towards regaining custody of my child?
