Q: What to expect in court for "Restraint of Animal" notice in GA?
I rent a property where my fence was destroyed during a hurricane, allowing my 12-year-old Chihuahua to escape and enter the neighbor's yard. Although the fence has since been repaired, the neighbor called animal control three times, citing my dog for not being restrained, and we have now received a court notice for "Restraint of Animal." On one occasion, our dog slipped out of the leash, but we retrieved him quickly and even informed animal control ourselves. The neighbor took a picture of him in the road by her house. Our dog has never bitten anyone, and the neighborhood cat is larger than he is. What can I expect in court, and how should I prepare?
